Topgolf may be spun off from its parent company. That’s due to softening sales at the eatertainment brand. Parent company Topgolf Callaway has put the brand under a strategic review, including the possibility of a spinoff.

Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has joined Republican nominee Donald Trump in calling for a federal halt on taxing tips as income. Speaking to a crowd in Las Vegas that abounded in hospitality workers, the U.S. vice president also pledged to pursue an increase in the federal minimum wage if she’s elected to the White House in November. 

Sadly, the Seattle restaurant community has lost another chef. The James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur Tamara Murphy died on Saturday after suffering a stroke while on vacation in Idaho. She was 63.

Popeyes has a pair of new executives. The 4,000-restaurant brand has named Bart LaCount as chief marketing officer and Matt Rubin as chief digital officer of the U.S. and Canada.
