CKE names new CMO and COO

Jeff Jenkins and Tom Brennan join C-suite; Chip Seigel promoted to chief legal officer

CKE Restaurants Holdings Inc., the parent of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, has added two new executives to the C-suite and promoted a third, the company said Wednesday.

Jeff Jenkins (left) and Tom Brennan will serve as CMO and COO, respectively. Chip Seigel has been promoted to chief legal officer.

Jenkins will focus on creative campaigns and highlighting CKE’s food, according to a release.

“I’m honored to be joining CKE, whose uncompromised food quality and innovative creative work are pillars of the company,” Jenkins said in a release. “I’m looking forward to being a part of such a well-established organization that has been a leader in the restaurant industry for more than 75 years, and to creating breakthrough campaigns that expand the company’s success across the globe.”

Jenkins has 15 years of experience in digital and foodservice marketing. He most recently worked at Whole Foods. Previously, he was the director of digital experience and new platforms for Taco Bell.

Brennan (left) will work directly with franchisees and focus on back-of-the-house operations.

He spent over a decade with 7-Eleven, holding various roles and working in store operations, merchandising and store development.

Brennan previously worked at Target as a member of its financial planning and analysis team. He also spent six years of active duty with the U.S. Army’s Armor Corps.

“I’m grateful to join such an iconic organization and inspiring leadership team,” Brennan said in a release. “I look forward to working closely with the leadership team and franchisees to streamline our processes and grow the business across the board.”

Jason Marker, CKE CEO, said in a release: “Both are dynamic leaders with years of valuable food industry experience that will define CKE’s future and position within the marketplace. Customer satisfaction and innovative marketing has always been a hallmark of CKE’s success. Coupled with a strong operational team, these changes will ensure continued transformation of the company and its culture, while still delivering amazing, quality food our fans love.”

Seigel (left), who will oversee the legal department, previously served as executive vice president and general counsel for the company.

In March, former KFC executive Jason Marker was named CEO of CKE. The role had been vacated by Andy Puzder, who was being considered for the position of U.S. Secretary of Labor.

CKE, based in Franklin, Tenn., has more than 3,800 franchised or company-operated restaurants across 44 states and 41 foreign countries and U.S territories.
