Ganelli will continue the Milford, Conn.-based sandwich giant’s continued efforts to bolster its digital presence. She replaces Carman Wenkoff, who left the company this June and is now the chief information officer with discount retailer Dollar General.
Ganelli joined the company last year as vice president of marketing technology. The company said she has played a critical role in evolving the brand across digital channels.
Over the past year, Subway has created options for ordering and pick-up, including its new Subway App. She has also played a critical role in the company’s new design, which integrates self-ordering kiosks, digital menu boards, contactless payment and other technologies.
Suzanne Greco, CEO of Subway, said that Ganelli “is an innovative, dynamic leader with a track record for delivering breakthrough initiatives and implementing digital strategies and technologies.”
Ganelli has more than 20 years of digital experience. Before joining Subway, she was founder and CEO of LightningBuy, a mobile commerce platform. She has held several other digital marketing and strategy positions over the years.
The company said Ganelli’s new role is effective immediately.
