Fast-casual Salata Salad Kitchen has promoted its chief marketing officer, Michelle Bythewood, to the role of company president, Salata Holdings LLC has announced.

Bythewood had been the CMO at the Houston-based salad brand since August 2017, and during that time the company said she built a new marketing team and oversaw digital and media strategies and product innovation.

As president, Bythewood (left) will oversee operations and logistics, as well as implement the organization’s vision, mission and overall direction. She will also oversee the company’s growth initiative through franchising in new and existing markets.

“It is a privilege for me to name Michelle president of Salata,” said Berge Simonian, founder and CEO of Salata, in a statement. “Since she joined Salata, Michelle has achieved numerous accomplishments that have strengthened our brand and driven our growth. She has been an impactful catalyst for change. Michelle’s leadership and endless talents will continue to propel Salata forward.”

Bythewood plans to unveil new “initiatives related to Salata’s restaurants and brand” in the first half of this year, the company said.

“I could not be prouder to be a part of the Salata family, and I am honored to be the new president of the company,” Bythewood said in a statement. “As I look ahead to what we have in the pipeline for 2019, I feel very grateful to lead our talented team on an energizing track.”

Prior to joining Salata, Bythewood served in executive roles at CiCis Pizza and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.

Salata has more than 80 company and franchise locations in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas. The company plans to open locations in Louisiana this year.
