Phil Romano, whose West Dallas Investments LP has created an incubator for restaurant projects in North Texas, knows not only the art of the deal but the deal with art.
Romano, who created such restaurant concepts as Macaroni Grill, Fuddrucker’s and Eatzi’s, is also an accomplished artist. Besides launching the recent Trinity Groves restaurant incubator, he remains in involved in the Coal Vines, Eatzi’s and Nick & Sam’s concepts. And he paints.
During my recent visit to his offices on the 75-acre Trinity Groves parcel near downtown Dallas, I got to see a few of his art pieces and photographed him in front of one that hangs in the reception area of the converted building. You can see he’s as accomplished in the visual arts as the culinary arts.
