Nextbite Brands LLC, the virtual restaurant company, is teaming with comedian George Lopez for a street-taco delivery-only concept, the company said late Tuesday.
The Denver-based Nextbite, owned by Ordermark, is expanding its celebrity-linked online concepts beyond a partnership last year with rapper Wiz Khalifa for Hotbox by Wiz.
Using the Spanish patois where “rompe” equals “break,” Lopez said in a statement: “My street tacos are all about helping you rompe your routines and dinner expectations with a badass street taco experience that tastes damn delicious.”
Nextbite said George Lopez Tacos will feature street taco recipes developed by the comedian himself and feature slow-cooked meats, toppings and salsas.
“With Nextbite’s delivery-only concept, we are helping restaurants thrive by adding a delicious delivery-only menu item that allows them to get a little bit of George in the kitchen and bring more revenue into their operation,” Lopez said.
Lopez has a George Lopez’s Chingon Kitchen fast-casual Mexican concept, has gaming-venue locations such as at the Gila River Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino in Laveen Village, Ariz., and the San Manuel Casino in Highland, Calif.
Nextbite’s virtual restaurant platform connects restaurant partners with delivery services such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, Postmates and Grubhub to deliver its menu items.
“As someone who is passionate about food, George is the perfect partner for us because he brings his love of food and restaurants to this exciting new Nextbite offering,” said Alex Canter, CEO of Nextbite. “George, together with Nextbite, is helping to make restaurants more successful and with this mouthwatering new menu we know consumers will eat it up.”
George Lopez Tacos will be offered nationwide in June on through Nextbite restaurant partners in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and more, the company said.
Nextbite’s portfolio features a dozen menus from Miss Mazy’s Amazin’ Chicken to Grilled Cheese Society.
Nextbite recently launched a talent and branding program, headed by Brian Furano as vice president of celebrity and brand licensing.
