The Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management (SHFM) will host its National Conference September 11 – 13, 2023, at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa. With a theme of BE THE CHANGE! Feeding A Sustainable Tomorrow, attendees can look forward to educational sessions on professional development and industry issues, interactive events, networking opportunities and national speakers. This year’s programming will focus on innovative solutions for a rapidly changing and multi-faceted business model, including making an equitable and environmentally responsible impact on the future.

Hunger Awareness Activity – Each year, the SHFM National Conference features an event designed to raise funds in support of local hunger initiatives. Thanks to the generosity of SHFM members, we have raised over $100,000 to support local hunger initiatives. This year’s 10th anniversary event will benefit the Blue Watermelon Project.
Industry Networking Event – Kick off the evening with SHFM’s premier relationship-building opportunity! Greet current colleagues and make new contacts over delicious dishes and ingredients representative of Southwest Native Americans. New this year, the menu is composed of items recommended by Culinary Stars from each of our host corporations.
Additionally, the recipients of the SHFM 2023 Richard Ysmael Distinguished Service Award, Robert Pacifico Above and Beyond Award, Jay B. Silverstein Lifetime Achievement Award and President’s Award will be presented at the conference.
The previously announced 2023 SHFM Directors’ Awards for Leadership (Rob Gebhardt) and the Rising Young Professional Award (Kelly Meadows) will also be presented at the conference.
