Trending this week: McDonald’s spices up its signature Quarter Pounder

This week on Nation's Restaurant News the top story was California legends Jack in the Box and Snoop Dogg unite for limited edition Munchie Meal. In celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the original Munchie Meal, Jack is introducing the limited edition ‘Snoop’s Munchie Meal’ and the new Build Your Own Munchie Meal

In other news, the rumors have been churning since the beginning of June and now we know they’re true: McDonald’s is introducing a new Cheesy JalapeñoBacon Quarter Pounder. The product, now featured on the restaurant company’s Menu Spotter home page, includes two slices of American cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, pickled jalapeño slices, and a creamy cheddar cheese sauce.vThey’re available starting July 10 for a limited time at participating McDonald’s locations nationwide.

Also, Domino’s is adding yet another innovation to its suite of delivery features: pizza delivery virtually anywhere. The Pinpoint Delivery feature allows customers to order a pizza to places without a traditional address like a park, beach, or sports field, just by adding a pin to a map and meeting a Domino’s delivery person nearby.

“Domino’s is proud to be the first quick-service restaurant brand in the U.S. to deliver food to customers with the drop of a pin,” Christopher Thomas-Moore, Domino’s senior vice president and chief digital officer said in a statement. “We’re always striving to make customers’ experiences even better and more convenient, and Domino’s Pinpoint Delivery does exactly that.”
