White Castle brings French Toast Sliders back in the New Year

White Castle announced that the quick-service chain has brought back its French Toast Slider sandwiches, first introduced in 2023, for a limited time.

The slider-sized breakfast sandwiches feature cinnamon swirl French Toast “buns” topped with eggs, American cheese, and a choice of sausage or bacon.

“A classic breakfast item with a White Castle twist makes for the perfect craveable slider that can be enjoyed at the table or on the go any time of day or night,” Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle, said in a statement. “This marriage of sweet and savory was an instant hit when we first introduced the French Toast Slider in 2023, and we’re excited to start 2025 by giving people what they crave.”

White Castle is not the only quick-service chain to offer breakfast sandwiches with a sweet base: Earlier this year, Panera announced its CinnaScramble cinnamon roll breakfast sandwiches as part of the fast-casual brand’s revamped breakfast menu.

The French Toast Sliders will only be available until April 20, or until supplies last. However, they will be available all day—from early morning until late night — as part of White Castle’s recent refocus on its late-night daypart (complete with a unique merchandise line).

In contrast, other quick-service chains are moving away from all-day breakfast, like McDonald’s, which stopped serving all-day breakfast at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and has not brought it back. Taco Bell also said that the company would begin allowing franchisees to opt out of serving breakfast in October 2024 to “streamline menus.” Breakfast will still be served at all company-owned Taco Bell locations, and in fact—the morning daypart has been on the rise for the Yum Brands company.

White Castle began rolling out all-day breakfast in 2015, one month before McDonald’s expanded its morning daypart.
