Nando’s Restaurant Group Inc., the U.S.-based division of the South African flame-grilled chicken concept, invited potential customers to sample the restaurant ahead of the December opening of the first unit in Dallas.
About 300 people at the event filled out their “Peri Passports” to win a chance at free peri-peri for a year as well as sampling the food and ambiance of the upcoming restaurant. An organizer said: "It was a mix of media, influencers and Nando’s handraisers. These are people who are big Nando’s fans and have signed up to be in the know on any new openings, events, etc."
Sepanta Bagherpour, Nando’s chief brand officer, said the Dallas store was expected to open around Dec. 11 and will be the 45th U.S. restaurant. The company has about 35 Nando’s in Canada as well.
The restaurant is scheduled to open in the Village on the Parkway shopping area in Addison, Texas, and will feature artwork by South African artists, which will be displayed at the Conduct Gallery in Dallas Dec. 2-30.
