WASHINGTON As a part of its ongoing restructuring plan, the National Restaurant Association said it has appointed three new executives to its public affairs department.
The Washington, D.C.-based association named Chris Raymond to the post of vice president of political affairs, David Koenig as director of tax and profitability, and Caitlin Donahue director of the NRA Political Action Committee.
Raymond, who previously was vice president of government relations for the National Council for Higher Education Loan Programs, will help develop the NRA's political strategy on key issues. He will work with members of Congress, manage grassroots efforts and oversee the PAC and Save America Free Enterprise programs.
Koenig, who most recently was tax policy director for the American Forest and Paper Association, will develop and implement the NRA's strategy on tax and profitability at the state and federal levels. That will encompass such issues as restaurant depreciation, business meal deductibility, and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit.
Donahue, who previously was manager of political involvement for Procter & Gamble, will oversee the daily management of the PAC and develop policies to align and support the NRAÕs strategic plan.
"We welcome these new staff members as we continue the strategic realignment for the association focusing on maximizing all resources and enhancing our strength and leadership," said Beth Johnson, executive vice president of public affairs.
