Philly Pretzel Factory has appointed Tom Monaghan to the newly created position of chief development officer as it moves forward with plans to expand.
“My job is to help the brand significantly grow the number of outlets domestically in the short-term and globally in the long-term,” Monaghan said in a press release.
“The last few years have seen about 20 openings each year. I believe that with the right processes and programs in place, we can see ourselves double, triple or even quadruple that expansion on an annual basis.”
“He has literally spent his entire life in franchising,” Philly Pretzel Factory co-founder and CEO Dan DiZio said. “He grew up the son of a franchisee and spent the last 25 years working for four other national franchise brands in various capacities, from operations and marketing to franchise development and executive leadership.”
Monaghan was previously president and CEO of Griswold Home Care. He was also vice president of Maaco Enterprises, where he worked for 11 years.
Philly Pretzel Factory has 148 units.
