Jack in the Box restructures operations leadership

Tony Darden to step down as COO; Ryan Ostrom to take over operations Dec. 6

Tony Darden, chief operating officer at Jack in the Box Inc., will depart the position and Ryan Ostrom, current chief marketing and digital officer, will assume operations, the company said Tuesday.

The San Diego, Calif.-based company, which also owns the Del Taco brand, said Darden had been with Jack in the Box since June 2021 and the departure was part of a restructuring.

“It has been an incredible privilege to work alongside such talented colleagues and franchisees at Jack in the Box the past few years,” Darden in a statement. “I am immensely proud of what we achieved together.”

Ostrom has been named Jack in the Box chief customer and digital officer, effective Dec. 6.

“We are grateful for Tony’s dedication and the many contributions he’s made to the Jack in the Box brand,” Darin Harris, Jack in the Box CEO, said. “As we look to the future, we have a greater focus on customer centricity and are confident that Ryan’s proven leadership and deep understanding of our customers will help us execute that drive.”

Ostrom has been with the company since February 2021.

“I am excited to lead this next chapter for the company as this evolution will help us create greater alignment and focus,” said Ostrom, who was on the 2024 NRN Power List.

Jack in the Box has about 2,200 restaurants across 22 states, and Del Taco has about 600 restaurants across 17 states.
