Starbell Tacobucks? Starbucks hired a pair of Taco Bell veterans as part of a reorganization of its North America leadership. Former Taco Bell president Mike Grams was named the region’s chief stores officer, where he will oversee operations inside the chain’s shops. Meredith Sandland, another veteran of the Mexican chain, was named chief store development officer.

In other executive moves, McDonald’s chief marketing and chief customer experience officer Tariq Hassan is leaving the company after more than three years. Alyssa Buetikofer, CMO of McDonald’s Canada, will return to the U.S. business and step into the role of chief marketing and customer experience officer, effective Feb. 15.  

Casual-dining brand Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant has made three C-suite appointments in steps to accelerate its growth. The Chicago-based Cooper’s Hawk said Dawn Phillipson was named chief financial officer, Linda Bartman was named chief customer officer, and Dave Harris was named chief technology officer.

Pizza Hut has launched a new app for its next generation of mobile ordering customers. While this new app doesn’t have much in the way of bells and whistles, it focuses on removing as much friction as possible from the ordering experience.
