Starbucks is paying the two men who served in the CEO role last year a lot of money. Brian Niccol, lured to the chain from Chipotle Mexican Grill, was awarded a pay package of $95.8 million, almost all of which was in the form of a sign-on bonus and stock package designed to convince him to take the job.
Red Robin’s turnaround is starting to hit its stride. Same-store sales at the burger chain rose an estimated 3.4% in the fourth quarter, which would be its best performance since Q1 of 2023.
Duck Donuts CEO Betsy Hamm has resigned after eight years with the brand and amid layoffs at the chain’s headquarters. The company wouldn’t disclose the number of jobs impacted, but noted that its continued growth and development requires “continuous reallocation of staff to properly support its franchise system.”
