Topgolf names Erin Chamberlin as its new COO

In her new role, Chamberlin will oversee venue experience, technology, food and beverage innovation, supply chain, and culinary operations

Erin Chamberlin has been named chief operating officer at Topgolf, effective immediately. She joins the company from gaming company Penn Entertainment, where she served as senior vice president of regional operations since 2019.

In her new role, Chamberlin is responsible for Topgolf's venue experience, technology, food and beverage innovation, supply chain, and culinary operations. She will report to Topgolf CEO Artie Starrs, who joined the company in 2021 from Pizza Hut.

"Erin's extensive background as a leader in one of the most complex and dynamic hospitality categories will be a great benefit to all of us at Topgolf," Starrs said in a statement. "We're fortunate to have found a leader who has the expertise for the role and embraces our brand's playful spirit as we further strengthen and solidify the unique Topgolf experience we deliver to players."

Chamberlin comes to Topgolf with more than 20 years of experience operating consumer-facing organizations. During her time at Penn, she oversaw operational responsibility for nine of the company's casinos across the country, supervised its horse racing operations, and was the chair of the Penn Women resource group. Prior, she held various operations leadership roles with Caesars Entertainment at Horseshoe Baltimore, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas, Horseshoe Hammond and Caesars Atlantic City.

Chamberlin graduated from the University of Virginia and later received her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

"As a Topgolf Player myself, I'm beyond excited for the opportunity to bring my gaming entertainment experience into the modern golf space," Chamberlin said in a statement. "It's an exciting time to join the brand, and I look forward to working with the accomplished teams responsible for the day-to-day success of our venues and player experience."

Topgolf has grown to 100 venues around the world. The concept’s menu changes three times a year to reflect seasonality and makes up about 50% of sales. According to Technomic data, the company finished 2023 with $466.5 million in domestic sales, a 22% increase year-over-year.
