Domino’s strongest sales performance in decades offset by higher pandemic costs

Domino’s U.S. same-store sales were up 17.5% in Q3, but pandemic-related expenditures like paid sick leave and PPE cost the company $11 million

Domino’s Pizza reported a 17.5% increase in U.S. same-store sales and 6.2% in international same-store sales for the third quarter ended September 6, its strongest same-store sales performance since the company began reporting publicly in 2004. But this milestone was offset by headwinds from pandemic-related expenditures, totaling $11 million in costs from paid sick leave, PPE, frontline hourly compensation, and store-level cleaning supplies.
