Mike Haracz, popular on Twitter, leaves brand after four years

Mike Haracz, a corporate McDonald’s chef who was instrumental in bringing back the massively popular Szechuan Sauce in 2017, has left the chain after four years.

Haracz announced his exit on Twitter, where he is known by thousands of followers for his playful commentary and love of memes. He is taking a position as a senior corporate chef at Bell Flavors & Fragrances, a flavor manufacturer in Northbrook, Ill.

“Today is my last day with McDonald’s,” he wrote in an Aug. 15 tweet. “I have taken a role more behind the scenes in the food industry, but this will allow me to do more fun things on the internet!”
