McDonald’s Corp. will be expanding its McCafé Bakery offerings Sept. 1 with a new Glazed Pull Apart Donut.
The Chicago-based burger chain said the doughnut will be available all day at participating restaurants. The bakery line was introduced last October.
“Our Glazed Pull Apart Donut is the first limited-edition offering to join McCafé Bakery,” the company said. “In 2020, we introduced our Bakery line with three delectable treats — the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and Cinnamon Roll — which became instant fan-favorites.”
The pastries joined the breakfast menu, which includes the Egg McMuffin introduced in 1971, Breakfast Burritos introduced in 2003 and McGriddles introduced in 2003.
McCafé coffees, including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas, were added to the U.S. national menu in 2009.
McDonald’s said the Glazed Pull Apart Donut is a twist on the classic doughnut that can be dunked in morning coffee or served as an afternoon treat.
McDonald’s USA LLC has nearly 14,000 U.S. restaurants. About 95% of those are franchised.
