McDonald's is bringing back its smoky BLT QPC for the first time in two years.

McDonald’s has a very busy week planned

McDonald’s Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with cheese makes its return to the restaurant menu alongside the introduction of the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry and Special Grade Garlic Sauce.

McDonald’s is gearing up for a busy week as it introduces three limited-time offers – the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with cheese, a Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, and the new Special Grade Garlic Sauce in collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen.

The new garlic sauce is available starting today via the chain’s app and is inspired by the signature black garlic sauce from McDonald’s Japan. It is part of McDonald’s partnership with anime series Jujutsu Kaisen, marking the company’s second anime-themed campaign in recent months.

On Wednesday, July 10, McDonald’s will bring back its Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with cheese for a limited time. The offering made its debut in 2022 and includes a beef Quarter Pounder patty, two slices of American cheese, three half strips of Applewood smoked bacon, three Roma tomatoes, shredded lettuce and a smoky BLT sauce served on a sesame seed bun. A Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder, with two beef patties, is also available. This return comes as McDonald's tries to increase its dominating market share in the beef category. During McDonald’s investor day at the end of 2023, Jo Sempels, president of international developed licensed markets, said the company has “identified unmet customer needs and significant opportunity to drive future growth in beef.”

“That is the large beef burger customer and their desire for larger, high-quality burgers that fill you up and are delivered in a convenient and affordable way," he said.

Also out July 10 is McDonald’s new Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, featuring vanilla soft serve ice cream blended with banana, strawberry clusters, and pieces of Kit Kat wafer bars. This launch comes on the heels of the chain’s Grandma McFlurry, which featured syrup and chopped candy pieces blended with vanilla soft serve ice cream.

If three LTOs wasn’t enough to keep restaurant crews busy, the chain is also gearing up for National French Fry Day July 13 in which app users can receive a free fries order of any size. And, McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal continues as well. The meal was launched in response to softening traffic and features the choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small soft drink. Initial traffic research from Gordon Haskett shows a 1% increase year-over-year in the 11-day period ended July 5, indicating a slight bump from the $5 meal.
