Subway is updating its new Eat Fresh Refresh menu for fall with the addition of a new Baja Steak & Jack sub and other new items, the company said Thursday.
The Milford, Conn.-based quick-service brand, which overhauled its menu in July, added the new steak sandwich and two new sauces as well as returned the Caramel Apple Cookie add-on to the menu for a limited time.
"The new menu updates for fall showcase the ongoing innovation our fans can expect as the brand continues its multiyear transformation journey that began in July with the Eat Fresh Refresh," said Carrie Walsh, Subway’s chief marketing officer, in a statement.
Highlights of the new menu include:
- The Baja Steak & Jack sub, which has “a kick of Chipotle flavor.” Subway introduced the shaved steak in July, and this sandwich pairs it with spicy pepper jack cheese, green peppers and red onions.
- New sauces include Baja Chipotle sauce spiced with chipotle and guajillo peppers, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, garlic, onion and lime and creamy Peppercorn Ranch with buttermilk, black pepper, garlic, onion and herbs.
- New chip flavor. Subway and Frito-Lay teamed to offer a limited-time-only flavor of Lay's Buffalo Chicken Dip chips.
- The Caramel Apple Cookie is back on the menu for a limited time. It features chunks of apple buttery dough, caramel chips and caramel salted crunch and topped with caramel icing drizzle.
The Eat Fresh Refresh launched with more than 20 menu updates, from new ingredients to sauces.
Subway has more than 40,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
