Subway debuts $3 Footlong Dippers for summer

Sandwich restaurant offers 3 lavash-wrap options at low price point, along with 11 sauces

Subway is debuting its new Footlong Dippers, a flatbread wrap, nationwide at a $3 price point.

Subway, with headquarters in Miami and Shelton, Conn., said the Footlong Dippers join the snack options on the Sidekicks menu, which include the footlong chocolate chip cookies, Cinnabon’s Footlong Churros and Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzels.

"Subway's all-new Dippers embody the changes Subway has made over the past few years by elevating our food and guest experience to better meet the needs of today's diner – balancing their love for the iconic footlong alongside our commitment to convenience, crave and value," said Doug Fry, president of Subway North America, in a statement.

"Our guests devoured nearly 30 million Sidekicks since their debut in January and, they will find all 33 flavor combinations of Dippers for $3 to be equally irresistible,” Fry said.

The three varieties of hot and cheesy Dippers swirl melted cheese and meat that are rolled in Subway's lavash-style flatbread.

The Dippers come in three varieties: pepperoni and cheese, chicken and cheese, and double cheese. They are served with a choice of Subway's 11 sauces, such as  Honey Mustard, Creamy Sriracha or Peppercorn Ranch.

Subway has nearly 37,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries and territories.

Atlanta-based Roark Capital completed its purchase of Subway in April.
