Taco John’s International Inc. has named Barry Westrum as chief marketing officer effective May 4, the company said Thursday.
The Cheyenne, Wyo.-based quick-service brand said Westrum, left, most recently served as chief marketing officer for Lake Forest, Calif.-based Del Taco Restaurants Inc.
Prior to Del Taco, Westrum held marketing positions at International Dairy Queen, Taco Bell Corp., A&W and Long John’s Silvers and KFC Corp.
“Barry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team at Taco John’s,” said Jim Creel, Taco John’s CEO, in a statement. “He has been a leader in the industry for many years and has a proven track record of success working in marketing for several other popular quick-service restaurants.”
The company said Westrum will be based in Minneapolis and oversee brand and marketing strategy, advertising, digital innovation, menu development, creative services and the overall brand experience for Taco John’s.
“Taco John’s is already a bold brand,” Westrum said, “but I look forward to taking its marketing to the next level.”
Taco John’s, founded in 1969, owns and franchises nearly 400 restaurants in 22 states.
