Hurricanes, tough comparisons due to last year’s Olympics, security issues and “industry softness” all conspired to drive down same-store sales at Fogo de Chao Inc. in the third quarter ended Oct. 1, the company said Tuesday.

The Dallas-based Brazilian steakhouse chain pre-announced earnings on Tuesday, including a 5.1-percent decline in same-store sales, comprising a 17.1-percent decline in Brazil and a 2.1-percent drop in the U.S.

Revenue was $71.4 million, far below the $75.4 million analysts expected, according to the investor website Earnings Whispers. 

Net income is expected to be between 8 cents per share and 10 cents per share, also far below the 17 cents per share analysts anticipated.
