Chick-fil-A brought back its Honey Pimento Chicken Sandwich for a limited time in August, along with a new spicy option. The sandwich was first introduced in August 2023 and marked the first time the chain provided a seasonal twist on its signature offering.
Now the chain is offering that pimento cheese topping as a standalone side item, available for a limited time while supplies last. The side is available as an individual order or for catering orders and can be used for dipping waffle fries or nuggets, spreading on biscuits or sandwiches, and more. It is available for $3.99, or for a larger catering order starting from $6.50.
The Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich generated “overwhelmingly positive feedback,” according to Chick-fil-A chef Stuart Tracy, prompting the company to iterate with a spicy version. The chain’s pimento cheese is custom made with green chiles and red pimentos combined with cheddar cheese.
Pimento cheese has long been a southern staple but has recently become a national trend as well. According to the Independent Procurement Alliance Program, pimento cheese appears on over 3% of all menus in the United States, which marks an 8.5% increase throughout the last four years. It is forecasted to grow an additional 51% throughout the next four years.
