Brinker International Inc. reported Wednesday a 6.9-percent increase in profit for the second quarter ended Dec. 25.
The casual-dining operator’s net income rose to $39.7 million, or 58 cents per share, from $37.2 million, or 50 cents per share, in the prior-year period. Revenue increased 2.1 percent in the quarter, to $704.4 million from $689.8 million last year.
Same-store sales at company-owned restaurants rose 0.8 percent.
Dallas-based Brinker owns and franchises 1,557 Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants and 45 Maggiano’s Little Italy units.
