BK’s King to appear on greeting cards

MIAMI Burger King Corp. has agreed to put its King icon on a line of greeting cards that will be sold by select retailers starting this summer.

Burger King signed a licensing agreement with Andrews McMeel Publishing of Kansas City, Mo., to develop six different cards that “capture the King’s offbeat personality,” according to Burger King.

“We’re always looking for clever ways for the King to surprise his fans,” said Russ Klein, president of global marketing, strategy and innovation for the 11,300-unit burger chain.

The greeting cards expand the line of King merchandise Burger King has offered in the past, including King masks and capes.
