Jeremy Fox leaves Ubuntu

NAPA Calif. Aaron London has been promoted from executive sous chef to chef de cuisine of celebrated vegetarian restaurant Ubuntu here, following the departure of chef-partner Jeremy Fox.

Fox, who was in the 2008 class of Food & Wine magazine’s best new chefs, had received critical acclaim nationwide for himself and the restaurant.

Although rumors abound that Fox took his staff with him upon his departure, a release from representatives of Ubuntu owner Sandy Lawrence said the staff was intact and service was continuing as usual.

London was one of the opening cooks at the restaurant and had worked his way up to executive sous chef by the time Fox left.

Previously, London has worked at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, N.Y.; Daniel in New York City; Restaurant au Pied de Cochon in Montreal; and L’Astrance in Paris.
