DALLAS Pizza Hut Inc. is testing an all-natural pie here and in Tampa, Fla., that features organic tomatoes, toppings without artificial preservatives and a multigrain crust.

Called the “Natural, the new pizza sells for $9.99 for a medium one-topping pie and $11.99 for the Natural Rustica, which is made with sliced Italian sausage, marinated Roma tomatoes and fire-roasted red peppers. Other natural toppings include pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapples, green peppers, red onions and diced tomatoes.

The Natural’s multigrain crust is baked with a blend of traditional pizza dough and five kinds of whole grains and is sweetened with honey. The crust boasts 8 grams of whole grains per slice, Pizza Hut officials said.

The pizza also features a sauce made from organic tomatoes and natural mozzarella with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.

Pizza Hut officials said the Natural would be rolled out nationally, but they didn't specify when.
