OSI names Dirk Montgomery chief value chain officer

OSI Restaurant Partners LLC, the parent company of Outback Steakhouse, has named Dirk Montgomery chief value chain officer.

Montgomery will continue to serve as senior vice president and chief financial officer while the company searches for a replacement for those roles.

As chief value chain officer, Montgomery will oversees OSI’s productivity team, global supply chain and information technology. He will report directly to chief executive Liz Smith.

"This appointment recognizes Dirk's leadership as the CFO and this new position's importance to our long-term growth plans. We're focused on creating a world-class value chain,” Smith said in a statement. “The Value Chain Officer and his team will be responsible for identifying new ways to integrate our capabilities across IT, supply chain and productivity to drive increased productivity, improved cross-functional integration and faster speed to market.”

OSI also said chief brand officer Jody Bilney will add the responsibility of overseeing the company’s research and development organization. She currently is responsible for OSI’s enterprise-wide marketing organization.

"We will be formalizing the partnership between marketing and R&D in one organization, which will further accelerate innovation and our ability to continually adapt to the tastes and desires of our customers," Smith said.
