Via 313 wins Nation’s Restaurant News’ Pizza Showdown

The Austin, Texas-based chain is targeting 30 locations

Via 313, the Austin, Texas-based fast-casual pizza restaurant, has been declared the winner of Nation’s Restaurant News’ Pizza Showdown.

The winner was decided via votes on NRN’s LinkedIn and Instagram accounts. Crust Pizza Co., also based in Texas, was the runner-up.

Via 313 was founded by brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt, who are from Detroit and wanted to bring the famous Detroit-style pizza to their city after moving there at the height of the Great Recession. The chain now has 17 locations and is targeting 30 with the help of Savory Fund, which invested in late 2020. In addition to Texas, they have locations in Utah and Phoenix.

The other competitors in the Pizza Showdown, which began in mid-October, were Emmy Squared, Frank Pepe Pizzeria, and Dewey’s Pizza.

Stay tuned to Nation’s Restaurant News in the coming weeks for our next Showdown.
