Smithfield’s taps Holy Cow as new ad agency

CARY N.C. Smithfield’s Chicken ’N Bar-B-Q has named Holy Cow Branding Inc. its agency of record.

Holy Cow, a strategic branding agency, will be responsible for managing all of Smithfield’s marketing efforts. Smithfield’s is a 34-unit chain that has served Eastern North Carolina-style barbecue and chicken for more than 25 years. More units are expected to open soon, according to the chain.

“We chose Holy Cow Branding because we know they understand us as a company and our goals,” said Richard Averitte, who became Smithfield’s marketing director in June.
