Donatos Pizza has named Thomas G. Pendrey chief operating officer of the Columbus, Ohio-based chain, a newly created position.
Most recently, Pendrey was vice president and general manager of the Gross & Jarson Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Columbus. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer of Southeastern Companies Inc., an employment services firm in Tampa, Fla., following a career with Johnson & Johnson.
“We are so fortunate to bring Tom Pendrey into the Donatos family,” president and chief executive Tom Krouse said in a statement. “He is a highly accomplished industry professional who will assume a key leadership role in our company. We look forward to Tom bringing his talents to enhance our performance and build our momentum in company and franchise revenues and profits.”

According to Nation’s Restaurant News’ latest Top 200 report, Donatos’ U.S. systemwide sales held steady at an estimated $166 million in fiscal 2012.
Donatos was founded in 1963 by Jim Grote and is still a family-owned company. The brand operates or franchises 154 locations in six states.
