Tim Casey has been named brand head of R Taco, parent company Inspire Brands said Monday.
Most recently, Casey was president and CEO of PepperJax Grill, a 41-unit fast-casual chain based in Denver that specializes in cheesesteak subs. He was president of Qdoba Restaurant Corporation from May 2013 to June 2016, and before that spent three years as president and CEO of MFOC Holdco., parent company of Mrs. Fields and TCBY.
R Taco is a 26-unit fast-casual chain that was founded in 2010 as Rusty Taco and focuses on Mexican street-style tacos. It was purchased by Buffalo Wild Wings in 2014, which was itself bought by Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. in a transaction that was completed in February. The three chains were combined into Inspire Brands, which is a subsidiary of Roark Capital Group, based in Atlanta.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Tim to the Inspire team,” CEO Paul Brown said in a press release. “R Taco is an exciting restaurant concept, and Tim’s expertise is a great fit to help propel further growth.”
Casey will report to Christian Charnaux, Inspire Brands’ chief growth officer.
Inspire said R Taco had sales of $23.1 million in the year ended December 2017. During that year they opened 15 new locations.
