Papa Johns executives Amanda Clark and Joe Sieve move into new roles

Clark will transition from chief international and development officer to COO, International, while Sieve will add North American development responsibilities to his plate at the restaurant company.

Papa Johns has made updates to two of its executives’ responsibilities. Amanda Clark will transition from her role as Chief International and Development Officer to become Chief Operating Officer, International, focusing on the operations and development of the brand’s footprint in international markets.

Clark first joined Papa Johns in February 2020 as chief development officer. Prior, she worked at Taco Bell where she held various positions, including EVP of restaurant experience and head of North America marketing.

“With operations in approximately 50 countries and territories, our continued international expansion is critical to the future of Papa Johns,” President/CEO Rob Lynch said in a statement. “We continue to make strategic investments across our international organization and infrastructure. Amanda’s focus on executing this work and driving profitable expansion will greatly benefit our international franchisees. Our ultimate goal is to become the QSR pizza brand of choice for international franchisees.”

Additionally, Chief Restaurant Officer Joe Sieve will assume North American development responsibilities. He will also continue to oversee corporate and franchise restaurant operations in North America. Sieve joined the company in April 2022 after previous roles at Inspire Brands and Domino’s Pizza. He also served as a franchisee of Domino’s.

“Since Joe joined Papa Johns last year, he and his team have significantly improved our restaurant operations. The results of these operational efficiencies have been evident in the recent comp growth and margin improvement across our domestic system. His more than 25 years of restaurant operations and development experience with other leading franchise restaurant brands will help Papa Johns accelerate our North America growth ambitions,” Lynch said.

Their new appointments are effective as of Sep. 18.

Papa Johns has made several executive changes in recent months. In February, COO Max Wetzel left the company after less than a year to take over as CEO of CKE Restaurants. CFO Ann Gugino left in March. In May, the company appointed MOD Pizza exec Mark Shambura as its new CMO, while Ravi Thanawala joined as CFO in June, after a seven-year stint with Nike. In July, Papa Johns appointed Patrick Coelho as SVP of Development, reporting to Clark.
