GLENDALE Calif. IHOP restaurants rolled out a new menu on Monday featuring more dinner options, new items designed for seniors and kids and more healthful dishes lower in fat, calories and carbohydrates.
Among the 14 new items are a French onion pot roast cooked with caramelized onions in gravy, served with mashed potatoes, corn and garlic bread. A smaller portion plate is available for seniors, and the pot roast also appears in a sandwich including the beef, onions and gravy on sourdough bread with melted cheeses.
Also new is a balsamic-glazed grilled chicken topped with sautéed mushrooms, onions and diced tomatoes; a 10-oz., hickory-smoked bone-in ham steak with mashed potatoes, corn, cinnamon apples and garlic bread; and a sirloin steak tips dinner with mashed potatoes, corn and garlic bread.
Breakfast options, available all day, include New York cheesecake pancakes, including four buttermilk pancakes with creamy cheesecake pieces and strawberry topping, powdered sugar and whipped cream; or a “Senior Two x Two x Two” including two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, two strips of bacon or pork sausage links.
Other senior specials include a Mediterranean lemon chicken breast marinated with rosemary, garlic and lemon, and served with red skin potatoes, steamed broccoli with hollandaise and garlic bread.
