Tim McEnery, founder and CEO of the fast-growing wine-centric brand Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, has been named to the 2019 class of Golden Chain Award winners. The remaining winners will be announced this week.
Since founding Cooper’s Hawk in 2005, McEnery has grown the brand to 35 locations by positioning it not only as a restaurant but also as a “lifestyle brand.” Each location seeks to give customers a taste of Napa Valley wine country with a dining room, tasting room and retail market. It also has a robust wine club that drives nearly a quarter of the company’s revenue.
According to the forthcoming 2019 NRN Top 200 report, Cooper’s Hawk had systemwide sales of $282.3 million in 2018, up from $241.8 million in 2017 and $185.4 million a year earlier
The annual Golden Chain Awards celebrate the best in the restaurant industry — those who are running industry-leading operations, mentoring top teams and creating opportunities for others.
The 2019 award winners will be celebrated during a gala at Nation’s Restaurant News’ Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference, scheduled for Oct. 14-16 in Denver. The winners will also participate in a panel of leading executives at the event.
