Consumers seem to have become quite taken with “family meals,” the preferred term now for orders usually serving 4-6 people and often packaged to be reheated at home.
New offers of that type are available from Bahama Breeze, which also has joined the ranks of chains offering takeout cocktails, as well as sister chains Cheddar’s and Yard House.
Another Darden Restaurants brand, LongHorn Steakhouse, is offering raw steaks for customers to cook at home.
Non-Darden family meals are newly available from Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Muscle Maker Grille, Nathan’s Famous and sister restaurants Huddle House and Perkins.
Those last two also are selling groceries now.
And some chains are introducing new items, such as Papa Murphy’s, which has launched the take-and-bake Triple Pepp, a pizza with three types of pepperoni.
Jet’s Pizza has introduced a Mexican Pizza, with chorizo, jalapeño peppers and diced tomatoes, among other toppings.
Lion’s Choice is reprising its Butcher Block Sandwich, and Velvet Taco has a new Weekly Taco Feature.
