Meal kits, family meals and groceries continue to dominate menu offerings as chains continue to adjust to the stay-at-home orders their customers face during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Family meals, usually serving four or five people, are now being offered by Buffalo Wings & Rings, D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches, Habit Burger Grill, Papa Gino’s Pizzeria and Smokey Bones.
Smokey Bones also has meal kits including raw proteins for their customers to cook at home. Oath Pizza is offering a variation on that with mail-order, frozen care packages ready to bake, with some assembly in some cases.
Modern Market Eatery, Snooze AM Eatery and Taziki’s Mediterranean Café are joining the growing group of restaurants offering curated grocery bundles.
And some chains are resuming seasonal limited-time offers and other conventional menu innovation. Smoothie King has a new immunity-focused drink, Sonic Drive-In is offering a new slush in part of its Red Bull line, Steak ’n Shake, true to its name, has a new burger and two new milkshakes, and Taco Bell has an update to its line of Doritos Locos Tacos.
