Brinker International Inc.’s net income increased 3.9 percent for the second quarter ended Dec. 24, the company said Wednesday.
The Dallas-based casual-dining operator, parent to the Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy chains, said same-store sales increased 3.5 percent systemwide, rising 4 percent at company-owned Chili’s restaurants on traffic gains of 2.1 percent.
“We've seen our sales and traffic driving strategies take hold, which gives us a great deal of optimism about continuing our positive momentum,” Wyman Roberts, Brinker’s CEO and president, said in a statement.
As of Dec. 24, Brinker owned, operated or franchised 1,634 restaurants, with 1,585 units Chili’s and 49 Maggiano's locations.
