Deep-fried pork skin is popular snack and ingredient in Latin America
Chicharrónes, or pork rinds, are a popular snack and ingredient across Latin America consisting of deep-fried pork skin. Chefs today are experimenting with chicharrónes by creating them from other cuts of meat, such as pork belly and duck. There has been more than 50-percent growth of them on U.S. restaurant menus in the past four years.
