Taco John’s announces appointment of former Auntie Anne’s president Heather Neary as CEO

Neary joins the Wyoming-based quick-service restaurant brand nine months after former CEO Jim Creel announced his retirement

Cheyenne, Wyoming-based quick-service Mexican chain, Taco John’s, announced Wednesday the appointment of Heather Neary as new CEO of the brand. She replaces former Taco John’s CEO Jim Creel, who announced his retirement last June.

Neary previously served as president of Auntie Anne’s at the former Focus Brands company (now GoTo Foods) and held multiple leadership positions there for sixteen years. Most recently, Neary served as brand president of restaurant franchisee, KBP Brands.

“Heather’s strategic vision, energy, and proven track record of driving growth, customer experience metrics, and brand presence at the national franchise level made her the unmatched choice to lead Taco John’s to the next level of expansion and success,” Gerard Lewis, chairman of the Taco John’s international board of directors said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome Heather to the Taco John’s family as we grow into the next decade together bigger, bolder, better.”

As president of Auntie Anne’s for five years, Neary helped to grow brand sales to $550 million and helped to foster a people-first culture. At the helm of Taco John’s, she will lead the brand into an expansion throughout the Midwest and into new markets.

“Taco John’s has built a rich history and a passionate following around delicious food, innovation, and a commitment to excellence,” she said in a statement. “I am honored to join this motivated and talented team at such an exciting time in the company’s journey.”
