TooJay’s has named Joe DiGangi its chief executive officer, replacing Mark Kirke, who joined the company just 10 months ago.
TooJay’s declined to comment on the reason for Kirke’s departure.
DiGangi had been president and CEO of 16-unit breakfast and brunch chain Skillets, based in Bonita Springs, Fla., for the past eight years.
TooJay’s based in West Palm Beach, Fla., is a deli concept with 20 restaurants, all in Florida.
“[DiGangi’s] expertise with fresh baked goods, sandwiches, and breakfast makes him a perfect fit for TooJay’s growth objectives,” TooJay’s chairman Ryan Esko said in a statement.
“I am thrilled to join the TooJay’s team,” DiGangi said in a statement. “With a deep passion for exceptional hospitality I am excited to work closely with the team to elevate the guest experience and growth with amazing food, beverages, and service.”
TooJay’s, which was founded in 1981, recently expanded its menu with new items including two “towers” — one with Nova lox and traditional accompaniments and the other deli meats and cheeses and bread for sandwich making — designed for two to four guests. It also introduced a large catering friendly sandwich called the Six-Pound Mighty Jay priced at $84.99.
In November it launched a $39.95 lemon coconut cake in collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer, which was founded in Palm Beach, Fla., in celebration of the fashion brand’s 65th anniversary.
