In-N-Out Burger announced this week that it will streamline its California-based corporate team into one location by the end of 2029. The company has been maintaining two corporate locations for several years and will permanently close its Irvine, Calif., office in 2029 while moving its western territory headquarters to Baldwin Park, Calif.

Baldwin Park is where the chain’s founders Harry and Esther Snyder opened the first 10-foot-by-10-foot drive-thru stand in 1948.

“In every decision about the future of In-N-Out Burger, I give strong consideration to what my grandparents and my family would think is best for our company,” owner and president Lynsi Snyder said in a statement. “I know my family would be in support of this move because it brings our In-N-Out family back together in a way that helps us better serve our customers, who are the most important priority.”

Snyder is the granddaughter of Harry and Esther Snyder. Since 1948, their concept has grown to more than 42,000 employees working in more than 400 stores and offices throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Colorado, and Idaho.

The company’s Irvine office has been open since 1994. With its closure, most of In-N-Out’s corporate employees will be located either in Baldwin Park, or Franklin, Tenn., where a new eastern territory office is scheduled to open in late 2026 to support expansion in the market.

“Some of our associates will be relocating to Tennessee, which makes it even more important to centralize our western headquarters in one location, and our company’s deepest roots are in Baldwin Park,” Snyder said. “Our West Coast family will be together in one place, where In-N-Out Burger began.”

In-N-Out first announced its intention to expand east to Tennessee in 2023. At the time, Snyder said the expansion plan was created in response to customer feedback.

“This expansion is significant for our company,” she said in a statement. “For many years, we’ve heard requests from our customers in Tennessee to consider opening locations near them, further east than we’ve ever been.”
