Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is expanding the ghost pepper flavor sauce to its popular chicken sandwich, introducing the new item through Oct. 31.
The Miami-based division of Restaurant Brands International Inc., which introduced wings with the ghost pepper sauce in November a year ago, is extending the flavor for this limited-time offer.
Prices vary by location, a spokesperson said, but the Ghost Pepper Chicken Sandwich starts at $4.99 and the Ghost Pepper Chicken Sandwich with bacon and cheese starts at $6.49.
The sandwich features crispy chicken with chili-infused ghost pepper sauce. Through Oct. 31, Popeyes will offer the “Chick or Treat” promotion, giving guests a free chocolate chip biscuit with any purchase of more than $5.
The brand is also offering a seasonal beverage: An apple-cranberry tea with lemonade.
Popeyes, founded in 1972, has more than 4,000 restaurants in the U.S. and globally. Restaurant Brands International is based in Toronto.
