Subway expands footlong cookie offerings for the holidays

A Double Chocolate Peppermint version will be available for a limited time starting Nov. 1

Subway will begin offering a new Double Chocolate Peppermint Footlong Cookie starting Nov., and it will be available through Dec. 31, the company said Thursday.

Subway, which has headquarters in Shelton, Conn., and Miami, said the cookie has chocolate and white chocolate chips, peppermint extract, and a topping of white and red candy cane pieces.

For gift givers, the cookies are sold in a footlong holiday gift box.

Customers have consumed more than 10 million of the original Chocolate Chip Footlong Cookies since its debut in January.

“Since their debut earlier this year, millions of footlong cookies have delighted our fans. Now we can’t wait for them to experience how we’ve reimagined another classic cookie flavor into even more footlong indulgence,” Paul Fabre, Subway’s senior vice president for culinary and innovation, said in a statement. “The holiday season is synonymous with cookies, making it the perfect time to introduce this new warm, flavor-packed footlong cookie to our snack menu.”

The footlong cookies on its menu of snacks, which also include pretzels and churros, have a suggested price of $5 or less, depending on the location.

Subway, owned by Roark Capital, has nearly 37,000 restaurants in more than 100 counties.
