Burger King asks customers to vote on Million Dollar Whopper

The quick-service restaurant brand launches $1 sandwich giveaway to Rewards Perks members

Burger King is inviting customers to vote, beginning Nov. 14 on the three finalists in its Million Dollar Whopper Contest and help crown the winner of the $1 million grand prize.

The Miami-based division of Toronto-based Restaurant Brands International Inc., meanwhile, is offering one million $1 Whopper sandwiches, starting Tuesday, to members of its Royal Perks loyalty program through the “offers” tab in the BK smartphone app.

In February, Burger King launched the Million Dollar Whopper Contest. It narrowed the field to three finalists in September

Customers can sample the three finalist sandwiches, starting Nov. 14 and extending through Dec. 5. They include:

  • Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper (Created by Fabian from California) — a flame-grilled beef patty, topped with creamy pickle ranch, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon, and Swiss cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun.
  • Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper (Created by Calvin from California) — a flame-grilled beef patty, topped with maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions, and jalapeños, smoky maple candied bacon, and American cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun.
  • Mexican Street Corn Whopper (Created by Kelsie from Nebraska) — a flame-grilled beef patty, topped with a street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, crunchy tortilla crisps, and spicy queso on a toasted sesame seed bun.

“We couldn’t think of any better way to recognize and celebrate our biggest Whopper lovers than with a special offer that lets everyone feel like a winner,” Pat O’Toole, Burger King North America’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to hear how guests think these three new creations stack up to the classic and look forward to them ultimately crowning the winner of the $1 million grand prize.”

Guests can scan the QR Code on the wrapper of each of the three finalist Million Dollar Whopper Contest sandwiches to vote for the favorite.

Burger King, founded in 1954, has more than 19,000 locations in more than 120 countries and U.S. territories.
