This cocktail combines classic Kentucky Derby drink ingredients such as bourbon, mint and Peychaud’s Bitters. The recipe was developed for Derby Day, which falls on May 4 this year.
To create the drink, an ounce of bourbon is combined with half an ounce of rum and a quarter ounce each of cream sherry, peach schnapps, orange juice, cranberry juice, lemon juice and lime juice. A splash of mint simple syrup is added, along with a dash of Peychaud’s Bitters.
The ingredients are shaken together with ice and poured over fresh ice, topped with lemon-lime soda, and garnished with a lime wedge and mint.
The drink is priced at $15.
