Brinker International Inc. reported an 8.3-percent increase in profit for the March 26-ended third quarter as both its Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy brands reported slight increases in same-store sales.

Dallas-based Brinker owns and franchises 1,608 casual-dining restaurants, including 1,563 Chili’s and 45 Maggiano’s.

NET INCOME

Result: $56.3 million, or 82 cents per share
% Increase: 8.3% (from $52 million, or 71 cents per share)

REVENUE

Result: $758.4 million
% Increase: 2.1% (from $742.7 million)

SAME-STORE SALES

% Increase at systemwide company-owned units: 0.7%


% Increase at Chili's domestic company-owned units: 0.7%


% Increase at Chili's domestic franchisee-owned units: 0.1%


% Increase at Chili's international units: 0.6%


% Increase at Maggiano's units: 0.2%
