Dine Brands Global, Inc. (NYSE: DIN), the parent company of Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar® and IHOP® restaurants, today announced that Susan Nelson has been promoted to SVP, Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer. She will continue to report to Chief Executive Officer John Peyton.
Nelson joined Dine Brands in December 2019 as VP of Communications and Public Affairs. Since then, she has globalized the Dine corporate communications function while simultaneously safeguarding the company’s reputation.
“Susan is one of those leaders who makes everyone around her better. She possesses an extensive understanding of our industry’s business, franchisees, team members and guests. This promotion recognizes the significant contributions Susan has made and the smart, hardworking, people-first, and company-forward mindset she brings to Dine,” said John Peyton, Dine Brands CEO.
Prior to Dine, Susan served as Vice President of Communications for Applebee’s, where she led communications and public relations. She also spent nearly 14 years prior to that with McDonald’s. At the fast-food giant, she held top-tier positions within the U.S. Communications Team.
